It's the end of an era - for a little while anyway.

Unfortunately the car failed it's most recent Warrant of Fitness test that must be done every six months. The Tredia failed due to the rust I tried to hide with 3 kilograms of body filler and a few layers of paint!
I foresaw this happening a few months back as you can see by the previous video - I just didn't expect it to happen so soon!

Interestingly, as I was uploading the above video I sold the parts to a converter here in NZ (in Wellington) who's busy beginning his BMW conversion!  This is good news for us because we're broke and the money from the parts is being used to break our home loan which is currently at 9.55% interest and stinging our wallets very hard each week. You can also help out by buying the KiwiEV DVD from this site for $15 US and that includes airmail postage anywhere on earth!

So what's next? Good question. We're busy starting our own local tour company and hoping it works out. It's not the end of the KiwiEV story though, I can promise you that. I still have "EV fever" and one day in the hopefully near future I will start work on the next one, finances permitting. One way or another, KiwiEV2 will come about!

Also, there's another video coming up in a few weeks (around July 2009) where I follow the progress of those other converters here in our little city (New Plymouth) and we finally put the unspent gas money to good use - but you'll have to wait for the next video to see that big suprise! Stay tuned folks! I'll be back!
