The Donations Page
Woohoo! Thanks to your support, I now have enough to close the donations button again. But this time for good!
Thanks to dozens of small and large donations (including donations from myself) we raised enough money to pay for two new tyres, the car transport to Auckland, and the Certification itself!
Now that the car is 100% complete, I can take the time to throw a huge thanks to those who donated - you've really made a difference. If it wasn't for you the car would probably still be incomplete.
It's blown me (and my wife) away that so many generous people from all over the globe have thrown a few dollars here and there to a complete stranger in a far away land. For that I'm so very thankful.
I've since sold my gas powered Nissan (starring in the video on the left) and am currently putting as many gas-free kilometres as possible on the electric car!
While I've done the project on my own, I couldn't have done it all so quickly without your help however. Be it financial help or just an email saying "go for it!", it's all been very motivating. I won't go too much into the gooey, heart-melting stuff but I think you get the idea I'm very grateful to those who helped me out.
And of course, as I promised, anyone who's ever swinging past New Plymouth, make sure you drop in and say gidday and take the Tredia for an (electric) blast! A huge thank you to everyone from both myself and my wife Veronika! :)
Most of us DIY electric car builders are strapped for cash and feel the sting of fuel price increases, so if you're interested in dropping a few dollars into the kittys of other EV builders, one to consider is Justin Sawell at www.ev-pulsar.blogspot.com. Justin is 1500 miles east of New Zealand in Brisbane, Australia (the closest country to us) and is busy converting his 1989 Nissan Pulsar to electric. He's going through all the stuff I went through last year - all while having no money. Oh boy do I know that feeling :)
I invite you to check his progress out and if you can spare a dollar or more by all means click on his Donate button. Cheers!
So there you have it. The following generous people have made donations towards the project. Be the donations large or small, they all added up to a completion on time. The world could do with more people just like you! If you believe in karma or the old "What comes around goes around" theory, then these generous people deserve the good things that will come back their way. If that fails then at the very least there's always a drive in the Tredia waiting for them. :)
